We Style Common Gals love us some stripes. It is such an easy print to wear but still playful. Weather you want to dress in head to toe stripes or just accessorize with them, stripes are fun and fresh this Spring. You can easily carry this trend into the warmer Summer months too. A striped bikini is always a good idea.
In all honesty, a big reason that a lot of women take a pass on pampering services like
facials or eyebrow shaping is because they involve a pretty big time investment. A full-
time job, spending time with friends or family and trying to keep up with working out,
eating well and maybe (just maybe) spending some alone time to regroup leaves little to
no time for a manicure, facial, haircut…you get the picture.
Cue in J Spa’s Glow and Go facial: in a mere half of a lunch break, you get a herbal foot
soak, a fully personalized facial with strictly organic and natural products, an eyebrow
shaping and a touchup with natural, mineral makeup so that you can get back to work
The Style Common members Alex and Jen Pistor made a stop by J Spa during a recent
sunny afternoon and were blown away by the luxurious facials: the products are so
sumptuous and luxurious (yet another reason not to associate natural products with
granola), the service itself was beyond attentive and detail-oriented and best of all, it
was a minimum time impact!
If you’re interested in a more extensive facial, the Famous Signature Facial is the way
to go! It’s 1.5 hours of blissful massage, skin pampering, a foot soak and an eyebrow
shaping, with (of course) J Spa’s complimentary makeup touchup for those wanting a
touch of makeup on the way out!
Stop by J Spa’s site (click here) to discover all the services the organic spa offers and to see prices!
We ladies at The Style Common are coveting these beautiful print scarves by Vancouver based designer, Mona Sultan. Her brand’s signature is a fun blend of colour blocking and bold graphics. Her collection is sophisticated but with a bit of an edge. They are a surefire way to add whimsy and luxury to your wardrobe. This is why we have Mona Sultan scarves on our covet list.
Spring always has us dreaming about summer vacations on an isolated tropical beach somewhere, but this spring, the runways were particularly ocean-focused. Whether it’s a tropical aqua or saturated Pacific blue, a huge array of ocean blues have been popping up on runways and in retailers. Though it’s inspired by nature, aquatic blue looks fabulous channelled in a modern way with clean lines and solid tones.
Floral prints are such a huge trend for Spring and we are loving all the pretty blooms. Whether it’s a just an accessory or a full flower power look, we think this print is a must have this season. How will you wear your florals?
Sometimes, the stars align: an early wave of warm spring sun encourages a bevy of
shoppers to wander out, a great cause receives a ton of support, beautiful spring
shoes find many new homes and The Style Common magically colour coordinates
each of their four looks.
Such was the case at The Style Common’s Miz Mooz event last month—we
partnered up with the fashion-forward yet functional brand to take part in
a shopping and fundraising event that was all about mingling, shopping and
celebrating spring’s long-awaited arrival with pops of persimmon, aqua and grass
With a half of the evening’s massive proceeds going to the Canuck’s Place Palliative
Care Children’s Centre, everyone walking home with an orange Miz Mooz shoebox
could feel amazing knowing that with every step they took in their new Miz Mooz’s,
half of their purchase went to an amazing cause.
Special guests included Kristina Matisic of The Shopping Bags. (right)
The event also marked the end of a whirlwind month for The Style Common—from
P L E N + Y to Pandora, our quartet has been busy, but above all grateful for the
wonderful month we had! Now that we’re into the swing of things with April, stay
tuned—we have some amazing plans lined up!
